Got Coffee?.....Got Cream?....How 'bout some Disraeli Gears....no it is not the name of a transmission used by a former British Prime Minister...(boy I am waaaay out there today)...travel back with me to 1967. OK forget that....Does the term POWER TRIO bring anything to mind?? How about the name Jack Bruce?? Ginger Baker...Eric Clapton?? ahhhh ok I saw a couple of heads nod out there on that one...the greatest album produced by the greatest power trio..ever...Disraeli Gears....Cream...Jack, Ginger, and Eric. DG lived again on our little Lower West Division stage this past Saturday night....wow...I really like The Nosmo Kings. Remember 8 Track Tapes?? I had to order Disraeli Gears Special...it was not "in store"....you may quote me one more time...DG...The Single Greatest Album ever produced by the greatest Power Trio EVER....Our Nosmo Kings know Cream...Saturday...We had Cream for our Coffee..as well as Stubby, Phillip, and Todd.
Once again just like last week....NK had the best of the best setting them up. Velvet Love Box absolutely has the most unique original sound in all of North Texas. Brandon, Scot & Neil .... Rather than a power Trio I refer to them as a Cash Machine Trio....they may be putting out the best sound around but what they really do is sell beer...and Jager....and Jager. Velvet will be back in March?? ..I sent Scot a message..have not heard back...maybe I should Tweet him....that sounds really bad....
Ok what a great weekend...what do we do to follow that up??? ok How about some Blues?? How about some Blues the King of Blues, Bugs Henderson (FYI..negotiations are on going to get Bugs back...stay tuned I talked to the King a couple of weeks ago..April..May??)...ok where was I...oh yeah..the blues guy Bugs likes to listen too...Howard Starling ..on our stage Friday Night...NO COVER...if you are a Blues Lover..be in the house...
Saturday....Rock and Roll....unbelievable vocals....lights....and entertainment worth the small cover charge we have that night....VOID....Cobbie et al brings it baby....the cover kicks in at Nine...arrive early...

I was qamazed at the crowds this weekend...in fact the entire month of January was just terrific...I just cannot tell you how much I, Jeff, Anna, Kaysi, Tina, Rachel, Laura and Gina appreciate it. We struggled that last two months of 2009 but 2010 has started well fellow Stumpians... help us keep the dream alive...tell your friends about The Stump. Yeah we have covers every now and again...but we provide great entertainment. I love you Stumpians you are qamazing...where did that word come from?? Sherry?? Sandy??
Moral Quandary of the Day....this news flash caught my eye today....(read carefully)

The abstinence program had no negative effects on condom use among youth in the study, which has been a major criticism of the abstinence approach." Wow....I see...so somewhere in some ivory tower some brilliant pundit has decided that it is ok to teach your adolescent children that it is ok to NOT have sex prior reaching the age of accountability. Now look I am certainly no moral compass for anyone...I have had sex outside of wedlock...gasp..yes it is true. What qamazes me is that somewhere someone is reading that blurb and telling their Wife..or Girlfriend..Oh honey great news... it's ok if we tell the kids not to do it!! When I was in HS we did it....yep and we were told not to...by mom, dad and the preacher...and the only reason we did not use a condom(rubber) was if the machine in the bathroom down at Henry's Filling Station was broken or empty....sheeeeesh...
Be thankful every day for every LIBERTY you enjoy...be grateful for the freedoms we so easily take for granted...say a prayer of thanksgiving every day for the men and women that put their lives on the line to protect and defend our LIBERTIES in order for us to enjoy the freedom we so love.
